The 369 Method for Love
Love goals are where people write the vaguest sentences and then wonder why nothing shifts. These twelve are written to be specific about the relationship and about how you are in it.
Twelve sentences for this goal
Four for each phase. Pick one from the phase you are in and write it three times in the morning, six in the afternoon and nine at night. Full routine is in the 369 method guide.
Clearing
- I release every old story that says love has to be earned
- I am safe as I allow myself to be chosen
- I let go of the tension I carry around being enough
- I release the belief that I have to shrink to be loved
Building
- Love finds me easily and I recognise it when it arrives
- I am cherished, respected and freely myself in love
- The right person recognises me quickly
- I speak my needs clearly and they are welcomed
Receiving
- I am in a warm, steady relationship that feels natural
- I am loved exactly as I am, every day
- I give and receive affection with ease
- I give thanks for the love that arrived in perfect timing
How to write yours for love
Write about how the relationship feels, not only that it exists. "I am in love" is a state you cannot act on. "I am in a warm, steady relationship where I am myself" tells you what to say yes to and what to walk away from.
Keep the sentences about you and the relationship, rather than about changing another person. The practice works on your attention and your choices; it does not override anyone else's.
Include the quality you keep missing. If every relationship has been distant, write "I am close and warm with the person I love" — the sentence should point at the thing you want to practise, not the thing you want to avoid.
Three mistakes that stall this one
- Writing "I am not lonely". That repeats the word lonely eighteen times a day. Write the state you want: "I am close and warm with the people I love".
- Writing one name into every sentence. That narrows the practice to a single person's behaviour, which is exactly the part you cannot direct.
- Stopping dating and waiting. The practice changes what you notice and how you show up. It works alongside doing things, not instead of them.
How long, and what to do when you miss a day
Write for 33 days. If you miss one, carry on at the day you are on — do not restart and do not double up. More on the timing is on our how many days page, and if you would rather have all 33 written for your exact goal, use the start page.
Frequently asked
Can I use 369 to bring back an ex?
You can use it, but write it about your own state rather than their decision — see our page on the 369 method for a specific person for how to phrase that honestly.
How long should I write for love goals?
The standard 33 days. Love goals tend to move slower than money goals because they involve another person's timing, so finishing the cycle matters more than watching for signs in week one.
Should I write about marriage?
If that is genuinely what you want, yes — "I am married to someone I am glad to come home to" is specific and workable. Only write it if it is what you actually want.
I am already in a relationship. Does this still apply?
Yes. Write for the quality you want more of — warmth, honesty, ease — rather than for a new person.
