The 369 Method for a Specific Person

This is the most requested and the most mishandled version of the practice. Here is the honest version: this method changes your attention, your state and your choices. It does not override another person's will, and any sentence written as if it does will make you more anxious, not less.

Twelve sentences for this goal

Four for each phase. Pick one from the phase you are in and write it three times in the morning, six in the afternoon and nine at night. Full routine is in the 369 method guide.

What to write, and what not to

Write about your state and the quality of the connection. "I am calm and easy to be around" and "our conversations are warm and honest" are both yours to practise, and both change how you actually show up.

Avoid sentences that decide their behaviour for them. "He texts me every morning" and "she chooses me over everyone else" put the outcome in someone else's hands, which is precisely the position that keeps you refreshing your phone.

Leave room for the answer to be different from the one you want. The sentence "I am in the relationship that is right for both of us" is honest, and it is also the one that actually settles you — because it is true even before anything happens.

Three mistakes that stall this one

How long, and what to do when you miss a day

Write for 33 days. If you miss one, carry on at the day you are on — do not restart and do not double up. More on the timing is on our how many days page, and if you would rather have all 33 written for your exact goal, use the start page.

Frequently asked

Can the 369 method make someone come back?

No practice can make another person do anything, and we will not tell you otherwise. What it can change is how you carry yourself, how you speak and what you are willing to accept — which does change how relationships go.

Is it manipulative to write about a specific person?

It depends entirely on the sentence. Writing about your own state and the quality of the connection is a self-practice. Writing sentences that decide their actions for them is not, and it also tends to make you more anxious.

What if I want them back and nothing is happening?

Give it the full 33 days and watch what you do differently rather than what they do. Most people find the practice changed who they were willing to contact, and what they were willing to accept.

Should I stop writing if it makes me feel worse?

Yes. If a sentence makes you feel worse after two weeks rather than calmer, it is the wrong sentence. Move to the general love sentences instead.
